The Worst President of My Lifetime
Let us begin with the following disclaimer: In 1976, I cast the only ballot for Jimmy Carter in my fourth (or was it fifth) grade class. I was the only Democrat in my school, or so it seemed, and I was thrilled when my candidate won. In fact, I was so bitten by the bug that I have been a political junkie ever since.
But, former President James Earl Carter, graduate of the US Naval Academy (graduating 59th out of 820), became a micro manager (monitoring the use of the White House Tennis Courts) and a Judas (selling out the Shah of Iran), as well as an unrepentant liberal who could not get out of his own way. He, who was destined to command a nuclear submarine, could not even pronounce "nuclear". (I note that anyone who criticises President Bush's mispronunciation of the word should remember that President Carter also says "nucular".)
Anyway, President Carter was laced for his anti-Semitism and bigotry. (He should have been laced for the bolo tie.) The caller remarked that the present issues with Iran, and the broader Middle East, are a direct result of his policies.
Carter claimed that he brought peace to Israel, and gave them some breathing room vis a vis Egypt. The real truth is that Israel has kicked the shit out of Egypt every time they fought, and there was not likely to be a change in that situation. It is true that Egypt recognises Israel, but it is a result of Israel's strength militarily and economically; and, more importantly, through billions of carrots (from Uncle Sugar). But Israel is still fighting, daily, against the type of Islamic extremist that Carter wants to reward.
Recall, also, that Carter is responsible, in part, for the rise of Kim Jong-il, the absolutely bug fuck crazy dictator of North Korea, Hugo Chavez, and (giving Kim a run for Bug Fuck Crazy Dictator of the Year) Robert Mugabe. He is an idiot, a traitor (along the lines of Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA)) and a sad and petty man. A man more interested in running down the United States to get his press, than keeping his big fat yap shut.
It is true that the First Amendment protects speech; but, for a former president, there are limits. Carter has trashed those limits, and as such, he should be excoriated (or excommunicated).
Perhaps we could send him to Cuba, where he could take over for his buddy, the Maximum Leader. Perhaps we could just keep him in Plains, away from the cameras. Either way, not hearing President Carter would be music to my American ears.

They say that to be young and a Republican, you have no heart. To be old and a Democrat, you have no head.

I became one of the Reagan Democrats, then ultimately, a Republican.

Like President Reagan used to say, "I didn't leave the Democrat Party, the Democrat Party left me."

And by the way, Reagan was the greatest president of my lifetime. (And interestingly enough, my late father, who was alive during the presidencies of men like Roosevelt and Truman and Kennedy, but who remained a Blue Dog Democrat to the end, would have agreed with the Carter assessment. He would have also agreed that President Reagan was one of the greatest presidents of his lifetime.)

First, it was torture warrants.

Now, another thing on which Alan Dershowitz and I agree:
