Georgia Tech 6
Wake Forest 3

12:23 remaining in this ACC Championship. Wake has been impotent as to the running game, failing to get anything at all going. I am amazed that the Time of Possession is the least bit close because Wake seems to go Three-And-Out every time they touch the ball.

Until now. Riley Swanson intercepts a deflection of a Reggie Ball pass, and the Demon Deacons take over...only to continue with their anemic play calling and inability to move the football against a swarming Tech defence.

Until now, when Skinner throws a 39-yard strike to move the sticks.

But, since I don't work for ESPN, I will get to my point.

Wake Forest's average SAT score is 1340. Georgia Tech's average SAT score is 1323. That means that the guys on the field are pretty smart. Combine that with the 96% graduation rate for Wake Forest--the highest among BCS schools--and you realise that...well...these guys are really student athletes.

Oh, and Sam Swank just kicked a 33 yard FG to tie the game. The push, wide left, looms large.

Criticism abounds after graduation rates of BCS schools are released. The OSU Buckeyes, for instance, have been cited for having an 80% graduation rate on the football team (while 85% of white athletes graduate).

First of all, it is not that much of a disparity. Second of all, maybe we need to start taking the most qualified students, without regard to race, creed, colour or national origin.

Did I mention that the Wake Forest Demon Deacons lead all BCS schools with a 96% graduation rate?
